I believe that we are living in the last days, the signs of Matt. the 24th. chapter, if you want to read that, will show us just how close we are to the second coming, and the catching away of the called out ones. We are in the time when according to; Amos 8:11 the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: It is possible to attend church week in and week out, and still have a longing for the word of God. The word of God is sure, but the doctrines of man are empty, powerless, sleep inducing, and according to Amos 8:12 people shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. So many pastors and teachers, are mere parrots of the doctrines taught in seminary. There seems to be no depth to there sermons, 1 Corinthians 2:11 says "the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." It is possible that some of these teachers do not have the Spirit of God. In John 14:16 Jesus said "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; To understand truth, what is truth ? You must receive the Spirit of truth. 1 Corinthians 2:12 says now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. The Holy Spirit that was poured out on the day of Pentecost is that Spirit of Truth, without it, Jesus said in John 3:3 "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. It is possible to be deceived into believing false doctrines. We are taught to just accept everything the religious clergy tell us, after all they are suppose to know the way. We have even heard it said, from the pulpit that if there is to be any doctrine given, it will come from them. When the Bible clearly states in 1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, etc. Isaiah 28:9 asks whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Man has a built in desire to know His creator, I believe this stems from the relationship man had with God before the fall. True Bible study will delve into the deep truths of who God is and what is our relationship to Him. There is only one way to salvation, Jesus outlined that plan for us in John 3:5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Peter received the keys to the Kingdom in Acts 2:38 Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Have they been called? Then they must come by way of Acts 2:38 This message to the church has not changed, it is the end time message, be born again.
