A Christians Guide To Holiness !

By Jim Brenay

Exodus|3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. Exodus|3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. Exodus|3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. Exodus|3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. Exodus|3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

In this passage of scripture, we find that where God is present, even the ground is holy. The question is, why must Moses remove his shoes? What was his point of contact?

His feet were in the tents of the Midian. What were the Midians?

Genesis|25:1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. Genesis|25:2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. Genesis|25:3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. Genesis|25:4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

Numbers|22:4 thru the 24th chapter these are the same people who tried to get Balaam to curse Israel And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time. Numbers|22:5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me: Numbers|22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people;

Moses was hanging out with the uncircumcised.Exodus|12:43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof: Exodus|12:44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof Exodus|12:45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. Exodus|12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

Exodus|12:47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. Exodus|12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. Exodus|12:49 One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Exodus|12:50 Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. Exodus|12:51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

1 Corinthians|11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
